About the role

Outlier Ventures is looking for a part-time Marketing Advisory Associate to advise start-up founders on marketing strategy and go to market planning; everything from brand strategy, communications, public relations to community growth strategies

Key Responsibilities

• You will help start-ups streamline branding, core marketing messages, PR, external and internal communications
• Craft core brand messaging for different types of audiences but with a special focus on Web3 and its nuances
• Review strategic marketing campaigns & branding build-up
• Track and develop contact lists and relationships in a CRM
• Channel potential partnership opportunities to the right people and facilitate strategic network connections
• Assist in marketing efforts, events promotions
• Provide regular updates and local insight reports across various teams
• Advise on and implement localised online communication strategies
• Run workshops and 1-2-1 brainstorm sessions with founders, in many cases acting as a fractional CMO for multiple teams for the duration of the program
• Assess team’s progress, strengths and areas for improvement, track the data using Notion, Slack and other applicable tools and communicate results cross-team
• Coordinate and collaborate with Program Managers, Associates, and other team members on activity plans and schedules
• Propose improvements on internal and external communication, community building efforts and operations

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong background in marketing and ideally exposure to different disciplines across the marketing field
• Ability to conceptualize the entire marketing funnel and explain various concepts simply and succinctly
• Exposure and a keen interest in Web3 / crypto / blockchain community
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid copywriting and editing skills
• Brand strategy skills: identifying unique selling points, target markets and product positioning
• Experience with community building strategies and campaigns for Web3 projects
• Ability to understand complex tech concepts and communicate them to different audiences
• Knowledge of PR and marketing through various social media and online channels
• Ability to educate others about the importance of communications and community hygiene, best practices
• Experience in strategising and heading communications, community growth, and marketing for a web 3 / tech company is a definite plus
