Chief of AI Operations (COO) at Subspace Labs

We are seeking a hands-on, AI literate Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join Subspace Labs as a key member of our Leadership Team.

Subspace Labs is an early-stage, venture-backed startup pioneering a new category at the intersection of AI and Web3. With our upcoming mainnet launch, the Subspace Network is a radically decentralized, next-generation layer one blockchain powered by an innovative proof-of-archival storage (PoAS) consensus mechanism. Our project serves as a foundation for global collaboration between humans and AI, ushering in a new era of possibilities. The COO will play a pivotal role in harnessing the transformative power of AI to drive operational excellence and strategic growth. Reporting directly to our CEO and as a key member of our executive team, the COO will drive initiatives to leverage AI technologies across all facets of our business operations.As an early stage startup, we expect this person to lean into creating individual impact, while also fostering a cohesive team culture of innovation and collaboration, ultimately shaping the trajectory of our company’s AI-driven journey towards unprecedented success.

This position requires a deep understanding of AI and the market landscape, a strong business acumen, and a proven track record of driving innovation in dynamic, startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Spearhead the integration of AI technologies into daily operations, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and propel us towards the successful launch of our network.
Collaborate closely with the CEO and other Department Leads to devise and implement operational strategies that leverage AI to enhance efficiency, scalability, and impact.
Drive the development and execution of business plans with a keen eye on AI-driven expansion and innovation within the autonomous economy landscape.
Optimize and innovate the company’s operational processes, systems, and infrastructure by leveraging AI solutions to support sustained growth and competitive advantage.
Work in tandem with the Head of People to foster an AI-centric culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all departments.
Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with AI technology providers, research institutions, and industry leaders to stay at the forefront of AI innovation and implementation.
Establish and track AI-driven key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and facilitate data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement.
Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the operations team, empowering them to embrace AI technologies and drive professional development in this rapidly evolving field.
Serve as a prominent advocate for our AI-driven project in public-facing engagements, including events, conferences, and networking opportunities, showcasing our pioneering advancements in the AI landscape.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in management-level roles within the tech industry.
A minimum of 2 years at any early-stage startup company, preferably in the AI or web3 spaces.
Proven track record of success in scaling operations and driving organizational growth in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong understanding of the blockchain, AI, and digital identity landscapes.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
